These are my new favorite boots. So cute and comfy! Slightly narrow, but I'm sure they will break in just fine. Thank you SH for creating yet another great shoe.

I ordered the Shear Alpine Boots for my 25 year old daughter whom moved from warm North Carolina to North Boston, this is her first winter in Boston. My daughters do not allow me to pick any clothes for them, ever. However, my daughter is living in a walking community, and this is her first winter; therefore, I took a chance, and ordered her the Samuel Hubbard Shear Alpine Boots. Daughter sent me a photo wearing her new boots with this caption; "Dad, these boots are badass! I love you." Thank you Samuel Hubbard

Overall Review
As with any Hubbard shoe, I have to say the shoe is beautifully made and has the support that I have come to really appreciate. However, for me, the fit is a little weird for the type of boot this is. To explain, my foot is wide in the front, low volume throughout, narrow heel, and narrow ankle. My first Hubbard was the desert boot with a nicely rounded toe. The heel fit nicely and I could tie the boot to fit too. My second pair was the 24/7 which had the same rounded toe. Initially it was hard to pull the 24/7 on, but it fit really well just like the desert boot. When I saw these winter boots I was excited. Unlike some well known shearling boots that we all have bought, these boots would have great support, would be better made of higher quality material, and could be resoled. I bought a pair. They ARE beautifully made of the highest quality material. But... the toe is really pointed. I don't understand why a winter boot made of shearling to keep your toes warm would then squash them by making the toe so pointed. I had to drop my sock from a midweight 5 toed wool sock to a very thin sock so that my toes didn't feel to tight in the boot. When I snugged up the laces as much as I could, the heel slipped some. I thought about returning them, but I decided to keep them and hope that when my foot shifts in the shoe like it always does, they will fit better. That and the Nubuck leather should stretch some. I really do want a shearling boot with better support. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
