Story

This is a favorite in our Go to Work Collection as it works so well with both dress slacks and blue jeans.

The shoe is built on the Hubbard Vibram sole and your foot is cradled inside the shoe by our triple-density insole that includes a full-length Poron memory foam footbed and is covered in vegetable-tanned leather which is the healthiest material for your feet to stand on.

The smart cap toe design is distinguished by very fine broguing. These shoes are perfect for long days on your feet or when your work requires you to move around a great deal during the day. The lightness of the entire Go to Work Collection is something you have to experience. This is why we say about this shoe, “its mother was a sneaker, its father was a dress shoe."

I debated on purchasing a pair of Whiskey Tan Market Caps for some time. Once I made the decision and started wearing them, they’ve become my favorite look. This is my second pair of SH's and I find the shoe to be comfortable and able a good look with any style outfit.

I have a number of challenges with any pair of shoes. I wear a full-leg leg brace partiality held in place by my shoe. I also have a very uneven gate. These shoes provide both the structure/support and the comfort I need/want. Well worth the price.

I bought a pair of Whiskey Tan Market Caps a year ago. They’ve become my favorite shoe. Incredibly comfortable, great style. Great for everyday and for travel. I liked them so much I just bought a second pair - this pair in black. Just as comfortable and stylish as my original tan ones. Wish S. Hubbard made them in solid black (without the tan stripe at the bottom) for a dressier look. Their customer service has always been incredible. A real asset.

Received the Market Cap style today, which was my first buying experience with Samual Hubbard. Nice presentation in the box. The shoes are very attractive at first glance, but upon close inspection I did find a couple flaws. There was some glue (which I could not remover with water) on the side of the left heel and a mark on the same heel near the shoe logo. Both flaws are minor and I might overlook them with less expensive shoes, but I felt the imperfections were out of place with a pair of shoes of this price point. Like many reviewers, I found them quite comfortable. I'll try a different pair of SH and hope for better luck.

Most comfortable business shoe I've had in 30 years. Latest purchase was birthday gift for son-in-law. Needed to return for a wide and customer service was excellent. Also bought another style for my wife. She's a nurse practitioner and they look and feel great for someone on feet all day.

This my 6th pair I have bought from Samuel Hubbard. The best shoes I have ever owned. Although expensive, well worth the money. I sometimes walk up to 7 miles a day in my office and my feet never hurt.

Where I have my shoes polished, they comment on the quality of the leather and workmanship.

I struggle to find shoes that are large enough and wide enough that also are stylish and durable. This shoe fits well enough. A size larger would probably be perfect, but Samuel Hubbard does not make that size for this shoe (15W). Leather is supple, insole is comfortable and vibrate sole is likely going to be very durable. also pleased by the lightness of the shoe.

This is a great shoe, very comfortable with a nice cross over styling. Problem for me, four pairs all with various cosmetic defects and varying colors. Customer service was great in providing replacements in a timely manner, but after four pairs, it was time to give up. Too bad, a very nice shoe, but at the price, cosmetic flaws are not really acceptable. Fit was true to size and if anything a little snug.

I really like the shoes, but they seemed to pinch on me. I usually wear a medium in every other shoe, but these pinched the side of my foot. I thought they were very nice and comfortable , But for the quality of leather, I would have thought the $200 mark would’ve been more appropriate. They seem to be on par with some of Allen Edmond’s lower line shoes that are about in that price range.

This is a great shoe, attractive, great for work or with jeans. Fit really well. My problem was multiple pairs with cosmetic flaws, which really surprised me. Customer service was great, replaced multiple pairs. Small flaws, like glue on surface of shoe, dye variations, chips in finish. Not appropriate for this price point. Other shoes from Samuel Hubbard have been great, not this one.

Product Questions

How do you polish/care for this shoe? Will polish affect the lighter colored sole edge on a black shoe? 06.12.18
Hello, thank you for your inquiry. If black shoe polish touches the area you described, known as the shoe welt, then it will stain the welt. You have two options. You can cover the welt with painters tape before polishing with a black polish, or alternatively, you can use a neutral polish.
