Story

What do you get when you cross a gorgeous, soft, pebble-grain leather derby with a sole and an insole system that’s taken more than a billion steps around the planet? That’s right, the world’s most comfortable dress shoe.

What is pebble grain? As the story goes, an apparently disorganized tanner in Scotland retrieved a piece of leather that was lying forever in a corner on a pebbled floor. The pattern of the pebbles had pressed into the leather and created a distinctive look. Thus was born “Scotch” or “pebble” grain.

Whether you’re walking on the drizzly cliffs of The Quiraing or making it rain in the boardroom, this new Scotch spin on a classic has got you covered.

I really tried, honest, but I can't think of anything wrong with this shoe. Naturally a cheaper price is always welcome but then I'm not sure we would have the same quality. I have a shoe, which looks more like a boot, from that family in Maine which has a Vibram sole. The shoe is well made but much heavier than the Hubbard shoe. Hubbard does not appear to sacrifice quality or durability (time will tell) for the lighter weight. I personally think the pebble grain makes this show look classy and stylish. I also appreciate the extra wide size.

Very pleased with the shoes. I wear them to work and they look professional but not too much. They have a causal air to them. Look great and they feel great on my feet

The problem with most comfort shoes is their appearance. When you wear them it appears that you are wearing an inferior unattractive shoe. The Highlander on the other hand bears a striking resemblance to an Italian shoe worn by James Spader in The Blacklist. It is a good looking shoe. However, I wish they would have left off the black piping and sent the shoes out with brown laces, (I have the brown shoes). Brown laces made my pair look slightly more formal and they go better with a suit.

The comfort of the shoe is second to none. I highly recommend it.

I purchased a pair of Highlanders, my first Samuel Hubbards, a handsome shoe. I wore them a couple days ago for the first time and didn't want to take them off. I highly recommend them.
