Story

What do you get when you cross a gorgeous, soft, pebble-grain leather oxford with a sole and an insole system that’s taken more than a billion steps around the planet? That’s right, the world’s most comfortable dress shoe.

What is pebble grain? As the story goes, an apparently disorganized tanner in Scotland retrieved a piece of leather that was lying forever in a corner on a pebbled floor. The pattern of the pebbles had pressed into the leather and created a distinctive look. Thus was born “Scotch” or “pebble” grain.

Whether you’re walking on the drizzly cliffs of The Quiraing or making it rain in the boardroom, this new Scotch spin on a classic has got you covered.

Great fit out of the box. First day wore all day and feet felt great. I will order another pair.

This is a very nice shoe. Very light to the "heft" but very supportive.
I am a true B width, have pronated arch, thus a low volume foot and wasn't sure the mediums would work out. I wear orthotic supports, and this filled the volume with thick dress socks.
It took three days to break them in. I feel very well supported and they are very light compared to my Allen Edmonds.
Wish you made a B Width

Handsome pair of dressy shoes, but not as comfortable as the Hubbard Free. I wear 12 Wide and these are a half inch longer than the Free and much narrower in the toe. My 86 year old feet have spread and I am more comfortable in a less pointy toed shoe.

Light as a feather, dressy enough for a business meeting, sturdy enough for a hiking trail. It's quickly become my go-to shoe for everything but, say, painting the bathroom. (Wouldn't want to splatter those great leather uppers.) But I'd happily navigate icy winter sidewalks in these shoes. The Vibram soles grab any surface and hold it.

They were a gift from my wife. The next pair will be a gift from myself..

A pair of shoes that reminds me of good pair of shoes from Vienna, Berlin, Budapest, Rome, and London. The leather is good, the size and wide fit are perfect, the sole allows me to walk well throughout a day, and that despite my arthritic joints. I hope they will last long and I like that one can have them resoled. I wonder whether the sole is glued or stitched to the upper shoe; a small gap between one shoe and its sole was visible the moment I took the pair out of the box. If that widens I will return them, for what they cost they should not just be glued. Other than that I acquired a second pair in a different style and am happy that the days of sneakers and other ill-fitting and odd looking pairs of shoes are over.

These shoes are advertised as true to size, but not really. I've purchased half size larger to no avail. This is the second pair that I've purchased, narrow toe makes it very difficult to wear the shoe all day. I had to spend $20 on shoe stretchers. I may consider a pair with wider toe

The highlander in black is a good looking shoe which would be appropriate in dress and casual situations. However, the sizing was off. It took three exchanges, going down half a size each time, before finding one that fit. But it seems worth the effort.
