Touring around Europe should be on your bucket list. If you have already been, it is time to head back to explore a new destination. The summer is the perfect season to visit Europe, with its long sunny days and cool festive nights.
Europe is such a diverse continent with a never ending list of activities and scenes, suitable to everyone's desires. It creates an amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in new cultures and learn more about the history of each each city.
We have chosen our 5 Must Visit European Destinations for the Summer 2017. We choose these cities based on their walkability, mild summer climate and a diverse set of activities.
1. Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with its unique buildings from famed architect Antony Gaudi. Barcelona has it all. It has stunning beaches, a rich history and delicious Spanish food. Spend your days relaxing on the beach or exploring the city's many museums. As the sun begins to set, wind your way through Barcelona's narrow streets enjoying the traditional Spanish tapas to sunrise.
2. Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos during summer is the best place in Europe to party. It also offers endless beautiful beaches and classic postcard greek island architecture. It is the perfect place to enjoy the laid-back and relaxed Greek lifestyle. Locals are warm and welcoming, and so is the weather! Mykonos is the best place to enjoy a comfortable summer vacation getting lost in its cobbled streets.
3. Lisbon, Portugal
With its unique style and laid back charm, Lisbon, Portugal is one of our favorite destinations in Europe. Wandering through the downtown district you are surrounded with beautifully tiled facades and many cafes to try the local food. Walk along the waterfront to the Belem district for some amazing photo opportunities with the cities monuments. If your feet ever tire, hop on the yellow trollies to your next destination. Make sure not to miss Lisbon’s famous amazing pastry, the pastéis de nata.
4. Croatia's National Parks
Croatia's most famous national parks. Pltivice and Krka National Parks, will leave you speechless. With its crystal clear lakes and endless waterfalls, it feels like you are walking through a fairytale. Both national parks are day trip destinations giving you a great reason to get out of the city and enjoy the surrounding natural landscape. Get your walking shoes ready as you can spend all day exploring the expansive parks.
5. Verona, Italy
Verona is a small Italian city, just an hour train ride from Venice. Take a step back in time as you stroll through the nearly 2000 year old Roman ruins across the city. This romantic town is home to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. For those looking for new love or a place to take their old love, look no further than Juliet’s house to reenact the most famous love scene in history!
